Cape Summer Villa Tourism Golf Challenge
South Africa’s tourism sector is currently in a dire situation and Cape Summer Villas has jumped on board to assist the unemployed within the Plettenberg Bay hospitality industry.
As a boutique collection of properties within the Western Cape, Cape Summer Villas believes that it has to get on board and add its voice to the collective of ever-growing awareness campaigns such as #ServeUsPlease #Tourisminmyblood #JobsSavesLives as a means to place a bit of pressure on the government to re-open the tourism sector.
Paul Duverge, Group General Manager of Cape Summer Villa Boutique Collection has announced that they are to host a fun golf day – The Cape Summer Villa’s #TeeOff4Tourism challenge on 8 August 2020, at the Goose Valley Country Club in Plettenberg Bay.
“We’re hoping that this Golf Day initiative of ours will gain momentum and will be picked up by others. We hereby challenge other companies and towns and provinces to start similar initiatives”, he said.
The prime goal of Cape Summer Villas #TeeOff4Tourism Golf Day is to raise funds for the procurement of food parcels for Plettenberg Bay hospitality workers, many of whom are sole breadwinners. With so much uncertainty surrounding TERS (Temporary Employee Relief Scheme), many families within the sector are without an income – there is little to no work right now due to hospitality businesses being unable to open, while those that are trying to operate, have little to zero income due to restrictions on leisure travel and the prohibition of alcohol sales.
“We are asking the greater business community to support us by taking part in the day, by sponsoring one of the 18 holes or by sponsoring a prize. The cost is R350 per player, this will include halfway house as well as a goodie bag to the value of R250. We hope to attract a minimum of 100 players.” he said.
Money raised from each ticket sale will be as follows:
R150 – Green fee to Goose Valley Country Club
R50 – Towards a ‘thank you pack’ (Cap/Lanyard, etc.)
R150 towards the “Food parcel fund”.
Prizes for the day:
Grand prize – 5 nights stay within our Cape Summer Villas Boutique collection up to the value of R45000 making the total prize value for the two winners R90 000.
There will be plenty prizes up for grabs like hotel vouchers, meal vouchers, golf goodies and lots, lots more.
Prizes up to 20th place will be handed out on the day. Remember to dress up, as the best dressed team will also win a prize.
If you are interested in sponsoring a hole the price will be R2500 this will include a four ball on the day. These are selling fast please phone to confirm what holes are still open.
