Ambassadors chosen for Renew Able Plett
Ambassadors for Renew Able Plett was held on World Environment Day, the 5TH of June 2018 at Le Fournil De Plett.
Rhian Berning in collabaration with Natures Valley Trust held a presentation showcasing the devastating impact plastic has on our fragile environment.
Twenty establishments from across Plettenberg Bay were chosen as Ambassadors for a zero waste Plett, rated on their proven efforts of eliminating the use of plastic within their establishments.
Plastics pose a major threat to us and our planet, with 8 million metric tons entering our ocean each year. It is projected that by 2050 we will have more plastic in our oceans than fish.
These products have many health risks to humans and animals alike and the environment we live in as a whole.
A product that carried progress and convenience has drifted its way to every corner of our lives at a cost that is too exorbitant to sustain. As a global community, we need to make a choice today: Planet or Plastic?
The workshop facilitated by Rhian Berning, covered the reasons why we need to reduce single-use plastic and waste, the alternatives that can be used instead of plastic and an outline covering the RAP campaign.
Rhian is also offering the first 10 businesses who email her with a three-sentence motivation as to why their staff should receive training in waste minimisation, will each win a one-hour interactive workshop.
