Markets and Farm Stalls
There is a variety of markets and farm stalls in the Paarl and Wellington area.
What better way to spend the day than to make your way through the stalls, sampling all the goodies they have to offer and perhaps find that elusive article you have been looking for.
Florida Padstal
Florida Padstal is a landmark in the area, in fact one often hears, ‘turn left at the Florida Padstal’ etc, when asking for directions in the area. A wide variety of farm produce is available, from breads and jams to biltong and wines. It is also open for light meals and ther are farm anaimals as well as a well stocked nursery.
How to get there
The Florida Padstal is located on the intersection of the R44 (Champagne Street) and the R45 (the Malmesbury Road).
From Paarl drive North out along the Main Road and turn right onto the R45, the intersection is about 3kms on. Cross the intersection on the entrance is on the right.
From Cape Town, take the N1 in the direction of Paarl and take the Klapmuts turnoff and turn left at the bottom of the offramp. Follow the R44 for about 10kms. Turn left onto the R45 and immediately right into the parking area.

Rooirok Padstal
It’s not easy to miss the Rooirok padstal with its bright colours and decorated scarecrows set against the vineyards in Cecilia Street.
Here you can buy everything you’d expect from a typical South African farm stall. All interesting and the farm produce is fresh.
How to get there :
From Cape Town, take the N1 to Paarl and take the Cecilia Street offramp. At the bottom of the offramp, take the second exit out of the traffic circle and follow the road for about ½ km. The Rooirok Padstal is on the right.

Jan Kan Farm Stall
Inspired by the old days when you could take a bunch of grapes out of a ‘Jan kan’ and simply leave your money in the tin, this tiny farm stall has enamel bowls filled with fruit and veg decorating its pathway. The roosterkoek and ginger beer are best savoured on the lawns outside under hanging vines, where kids can enjoy the play area or feed the sheep and horses. Try the Seville marmalade, tri-berry jam and lemoenrolletjies packaged under the Jan Kan label.
How to get there :
From Cape Town, take the N1 to Paarl and take the Paarl / Franschhoek offramp. At the bottom of the offramp, turn left at the stop street and follow the road for about 1 km. Turn left into Laborie Street. Jan Kan is situated on your right as the road bends to your left.

Jan Phillips Square Flea Market
This is a typical Saturday Flea market offering bric a brac. African curios and other interesting bits and pieces are on offer.
How to get there :
From Cape Town, take the N1 to Paarl and take the Main Street offramp.. At the bottom of the offramp, turn left and ttravel on Main Street towards the centre of town. Turn right into Lady Grey street and immediately left into the Main Street continuation. Turn right at the first road. The market is right there on the square.

Windmeul Farmers’ Market
The produce on offer on that day includes organic vegetables, vegetables, fruit, beef, lamb & mutton, chicken, pork, freshly baked bread, droëwors & biltong, cheese, biscuits and cakes, free-range eggs, jams and preserves, olives and olive oil, buchu, braai-wood.
Our Farmer’s Market will be taking place the 1st Saturday of every month on the following dates:

How to get there :
Driving North on the N1 from cape Town, take the R44 turn off towards Wellington. Drive for +- 15km. Windmeul Cellar is situated on your left.
