Paarl Rate Payers Association
Paarl Rate Payers’ Association
The Paarl Rate Payers’ Association works closely with the municipality as the voice of the rate payer. We concern ourselves with getting the important things done properly. We will press for fair and best practice in local government and strive for results and not waiting on promises.
The time and effort put into studying, inspecting, reporting and meeting officials is done by volunteer citizens without pay of any sort.
Our aim is not to be confrontational but rather to work with the Council and its staff in planning and providing better services. We are ready to praise and tell you about good results but will equally insist on fair and sound management. We will keep you informed and updated at all times.
Some of our specific aims are to ensure:
✰ Sensible urban planning and development
✰ Healthy and sustainable socio-economic development
✰ Public participation and awareness
✰ Sustainable and sound environmental conservation and awareness
✰ Value for money spent and fair and best practice in local government
To have our voice heard best, we need you, all rate payers to take part and join the Paarl Rate Payers’ Association. If we have a strong membership, our case is strengthened to get the required outcome with matters concerning water supply, roads and traffic, waste management, electricity supply, environmental impact issues, crime and protection to municipal budgets.
For any enquiries or to become a member, please contact our current Chairperson, Dr Cas van Wyk, on 082 577 0635 or drcjhvanwyk@gmail.com or Vice Chairman, Mr Rudie Barnard, on 082 550 1378 or rudieb@vodamail.co.za.
