The mercury is rising and you are wondering what you are going to do to cool down in Paarl’s soaring temperatures. We have scoped out some great places for you to cool down in and around our beautiful town.
Bergriver Resort
This is the perfect place to be on a sunny day. Bergriver Resort boasts a 3,5m deep Olympic pool, a kiddie’s pool, waterslide and the river which is ideal for swimming, as well as tubing. Spend the day or book a chalet or camping spot for the weekend.
They are open all year round and apart from the great water attractions provide many other activities such as canoeing, volleyball, put-putt and a kiddies play area.
The Farmyard Park
Braai, picnic, swim, visit the farm animals or just laze in the tranquil atmosphere of this miniature farm.
There are three swimming pools, shady braai sites, a tuck shop and a trampoline. A Supertube and Mechanical Bull operate on busy days only for a small extra fee.
They are open to the public on weekends and to school groups during the week.
Municipal Swimming Pools
There are 3 municipal swimming pools in Paarl and Wellington so plenty of choice for a day out:
Klein Drakenstein Swimming Pool, Paarl- Faure Street Swimming Pool, Paarl
- Pentz Street Swimming Pool, Wellington
Enjoy a lovely day, while lazing away in the sun at one of these local amenities.
Bainskloof Rock Pools
Bainskloof Pass is on the R303 just outside Wellington and is a great place to spend the day hiking, swimming and braaing.
The crystal clear waters are a great place to refresh after a hot day or hike through the mountains.
Tweede Tol is the most popular swimming spot and has deep pools for the more adventurous and shallow ones for the kids.
