International Pinotage Day at Mellasat Vineyards
Venue: Mellasat Vineyards
Dates: 12/10/2019 to 13/10/2019
Times: 11:00 - 16:00
Mellasat Vineyards is celebrating International Pinotage day by offering a vertical tasting of 4 vintages – 2008, 2016, 2017 and 2019, each paired with a traditional snack. This celebration takes place on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of October 2019 at Mellasat Vineyards.
Pinotage is an established grape variety in the Cape Winelands with the first commercial Pinotage made in 1959. Mellasat Vineyards made the world’s first commercially available White Pinotage in 2007. The weekend of the 12th and 13th October will see this South African grape celebrated around the world, and Mellasat Vineyards will give you the opportunity of tasting their second vintage of this unique style of the cultivar.
If you’ve never tasted a White Pinotage before, or wondered what to pair the wine with, then now is the opportunity to tantalise your taste buds! We are offering a vertical tasting of four vintages – 2008, 2016, 2017 and 2019 each paired with one of four finger food snacks available – a lentil bobotie samoosa, smoked snoek pancake, biltong soup “shot”, and a boerewors vetkoek with a pineapple salsa.
We will also have further lunch options available during the weekend.
We are looking forward to having you here! Booking is essential.
Our opening times are: Saturday 09:30 – 17:30, Sunday 10:00 – 16:00.
