Proteas Crunch Clash: Netball Super Sixes”
The Proteas are set to take on Trinidad and Tobago in the Netball World Cup’s “Super Six” stage at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on Monday. Proteas fans have been fervently supporting their local team for three consecutive days at the CTICC.
In their previous game against Jamaica, despite the spirited efforts of Bongi Msomi’s team, the Jamaican team emerged victorious with a score of 67-49. However, the Proteas had already secured their spot in the next round due to earlier wins against Wales (61-50) and Sri Lanka (87-32). They finished second in their group, with Jamaica leading the table with a perfect record, and will carry two points into the next phase of the competition.
The upcoming matches for the Proteas will be crucial as they face the defending champions, New Zealand, and Uganda in Pool G. New Zealand also comes into the next round with four points after defeating Trinidad and Tobago (76-27) and Uganda (54-44).
The Proteas’ schedule includes a vital showdown against New Zealand on Wednesday at 6 pm and their final Super Sixes match against Uganda, a fellow African nation, on Friday at 4 pm.
In the broader context of the tournament, the top two teams from Pool G, which includes Jamaica, South Africa, Wales, New Zealand, Uganda, and Trinidad and Tobago, as well as Pool F, comprising Australia, Tonga, Fiji, England, Malawi, and Scotland, will qualify for the semi-finals.
