Last Chance to apply for Thuthukisani Programme Atologa 2024
Arts & Culture Trust Wraps Up Applications for Thuthukisani Programme Atologa 2024
The Arts & Culture Trust (ACT) is closing the doors for applications to its highly anticipated Thuthukisani Programme Atologa 2024. This program, held in partnership with Nedbank, is a beacon for emerging and established arts entrepreneurs and independent artists across South Africa. The application deadline is set for 12 April 2024.
After a successful cycle 3 in 2023 focusing on Gauteng, Free State, and Western Cape, the programme now extends its reach nationwide for its fourth cycle, Atologa 2024. This initiative provides crucial entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and investment opportunities to selected participants.
The comprehensive training curriculum, scheduled to kick off in mid-2024, covers essential modules such as Asset-based Citizen-led Development, Project Management, Financial Management, Marketing, Strategic Community and Audience Development, Governance, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Learning.
Participants with promising projects stand a chance to secure cash investments of up to R35,000 for project rollout within 90 days post-training. This investment is geared towards registered companies, offering a maximum of R35,000, while non-registered entities are eligible for up to R10,000.

The programme welcomes applications from registered and non-registered businesses, as well as community art centers and artists operating in visual arts, digital arts, performing arts, music, and literature fields within South Africa. Music and film applications must have arts and culture as their central theme to qualify.
Jessica Denyschen, CEO of ACT, emphasizes, “We seek arts businesses or projects that not only show promise but also have the potential to generate tangible income. Our past collaborations have seen tremendous growth and transformation in arts professionals who’ve applied these learnings to their businesses, creating employment opportunities and contributing to the creative sector.”
Poovi Pillay, Executive Head of Corporate Social Investments at Nedbank, echoes this sentiment, highlighting the programme’s role in fostering sustainable business growth and community development through mentorship, investment, and skills sharing.
