Fishing from Nelspruit
Although Nelspruit is a landlocked town, it is surrounded by many dams and rivers suitable for fishing. Whether you are an amateur fisherman or a skilled professional – there are lots of different types of fish species that you can try your luck on!
Fly-fishing for trout is very popular in the colder areas and can be done in the Elands river and the dams near Belfast, Lydeburg and Dullstroom. Bass, Carp and Kurper are also found in most of the waters in the area and are often the target for many fishing competitions. One can also head to the Crocodile, Komati and Spekboom rivers in search of Tigerfish and Yellowfish. And if none of these tickle your fancy, head across the border to Mozambique for some saltwater fishing.
