Child Welfare Nelspruit
Every child should have a caring adult in their life...

Welcome to Child Welfare in Nelspruit!

Child Welfare is a non-governmental (NGO), non-racial, non-denominational organization. We aim to protect and promote the interests, safety and well being of children under the age of 18, within the context of their family and community life. Our staff consists of 5 social workers, auxiliary social worker, community developer, administrator and a committee made up of volunteers.

We provide assistance to all vulnerable children and their families who experience social problems. Children that are vulnerable and at risk due to their exposure to abuse, neglect, sexual exploitation, abandonment, orphan hood, domestic violence, divorce, crime, HIV/AIDS, poverty, alcohol, substance abuse, commercial sex workers, child labor, child trafficking, and disability.

We render services to families in Nelspruit and the surrounding areas. We focus on the following four levels of services:

• Prevention Services

• Early Intervention Services

• Statutory Services

• Continuum of Care Services At Child Welfare

We take pride in our commitment to the surrounding community. As part of the prevention services, we recognize the need to create and promote poverty alleviation and socially aware projects, which are sustainable. We focus on empowering the people and communities identified as the most vulnerable, with skills, in order to enable them to participate more actively in their own future.
