Afrikaans Evening | Uplands College

The Uplands College annual Afrikaans Evening held on Thursday 22 August, was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all that attended.

The Grade 10 students were tasked with researching an idiom and decorating a table using their research and creativity. They proved themselves to be very creative and all the guests were treated to a colourful “Afrikaans lesson” on the origin and correct use of theses idioms.

The grade 8 and 9 classes stayed true to tradition and choreographed their items to the backdrop of popular Afrikaans songs. Various drama and musical items contributed to a brilliant display of talent and was well received by all our guests.
