Pumas Win First Division Title
The Steval Pumas won the Absa Currie Cup First Division title with a tremendous display of running rugby against the EP Kings. The final score of 53-30 in the match played at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Friday 11th of October reflected the way they have dominated the entire season.
The Pumas dominated the game with their free running rugby, running in six tries, two when they were down to 13 men because of yellow cards. Even though the score was close at stage the passionate home crown never doubted that their side would win.
It was a great team performance with man of the match Coenie van Wyk running in three tries.
This victory is the team’s first First Division title since the 2009 and came with a prize cheque of 1 million Rand!
The ecstatic team now look forward to a home and away promotion relegation match against the Griquas in the next two weeks, the home game taking place in two weeks time.
A very special congratulations to the Pumas, you’ve made us very proud!
