Flying Colours centre for children opens in Nelspruit
Flying Colours therapeutic centre for children officially opened in Nelspruit on Friday the 13th of March, 2015. The centre is the first of its kind in Nelspruit and offers a broad range of professional assistance to children with emotional or physical development problems.
Flying Colours employs a mix of experienced professionals, each specializing in specific fields:
- Speech therapist (Janrē van Schalkwyk, Mireille van Niekerk & Lizēlda de Bruin)
- Remedial therapist and learning support (Monē van Rooyen)
- Clinical psychologist (Hermien Schröder)
- Physiotherapist (Dirkie Coomans)
- Occupational therapist (Petra Bohmer)
- Baby gym (Lorraine van Niekerk)
- Mindmoves (Elmarie Swanepoel)
- Music therapist (Petra Jerling)
A name derived from the expression “to pass with flying colours”, it is clear that this group of professionals are passionate about assisting children to get the best start in life and not let them fall behind.
Remedial therapist, Monē van Rooyen says that it’s important for parents to trust their own instincts and if they think their child might be falling behind, to rather proactively seek professional advice as prevention is always better cure. “Come in and have your child assessed, we will then be able to advise you on whether treatment is needed or if you don’t need to worry.” she says.
Even though it is evident that the therapists at Flying Colours keep up to date with developments and advancements in their respective field, they are not shy to say that they still strongly believe in old fashioned outside play time and a good book.
Flying Colours is situated at 53 Murray Street and they can be contacted on 013 752 2813. The centre is open from 7h30 to 16h00 on weekdays and some Saturdays.
