DIY 3 minute 4-ingredient play dough
Play dough is very relaxing. The simple act of playing with play-dough, squishing and rolling it, can be very enjoyable for both children and adults.

Here is the easiest, quickest and most inexpensive play dough recipe provided by Dr Marietjie Yssel, specialist in play therapy from Jeffery’s Bay.
Ingredients
1 Cup Flour
½ Cup Fine Salt
2 Teaspoons Cream of Tartar
2 Tablespoons Oil
1 Cup boiling water
Method
- Mix together the flour, salt, cream of tartar in a bowl
- Add oil and mix
- Boil kettle
- Add boiling hot water to bowl and mix until the mixture loosens from the edges of the bowl
- Roll out to cool for a second before allowing kids to play
The plain recipe makes white dough, which can be painted with water paint. Alternatively, to make colored dough, simply add 3 tablespoons powder paint and mix.
Dough lasts for about 3 months. This dough does not require baking, simply put it in the sun to dry.
This dough is non-toxic, but contains gluten.
Please be safe when working with boiling water around children.
