Dr Alex Kuhn is a skilled orthopaedic surgeon with over 22 years’ experience.
His private practice is based at the Busamed Lowveld Private Hospital in Nelspruit.
Dr Alex Kuhn has a special interest in joint replacement surgery including total and partial hip and knee replacements. The approach used by Dr Kuhn in his joint replacement surgeries is a revived anterior approach which is a minimally invasive or tissue-sparing joint replacement surgery. The use of this technique results in smaller incisions, shorter hospital stays and quicker recovery.
Dr Kuhn is also a consultant for a leading orthopaedic medical device manufacturer and conducts training for orthopaedic surgeons who wish to acquire skills in this revitalised surgical method.
Furthermore, Dr Kuhn has interests in upper limb surgery including shoulder, elbow and hand surgery as well as sport-related injuries. He also specialises in arthroscopic surgery which is often necessary to visualise, diagnose and treat problems inside a joint. In addition, Dr Kuhn also offers reconstructive surgery mostly resulting from trauma or accidents.
His practice is open Monday to Thursday from 08h00 to 16h00 and on Friday's from 08h00 to 13h00.
