Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre
We believe it is every child’s birthright, to spend his/her formative years among people who understand their needs and who can help them become independent individuals. This is why we provide a stimulating environment where children’s cognitive, physical, emotional and social needs are met.
Our classes are bilingual up to the age of four years. During the Grade RR and Grade R years teaching is done in parallel medium, which means children receive teaching in their home language. Here there are separate English and Afrikaans classes.

Others are privately conducted during the week. Ballet, piano and Deportment classes can be privately arranged through the front office reception.
During the cultural period learners have the choice of participating in one of the following activities:
• Eco Club
• Debating
• Community Outreach
• Art Club
• Chess
• Modelling
• Fitness Dancing
Eco Club
The Eco Club is run by a passionate conservationist, who is dedicated to sharing his knowledge of the environment with learners. The objective of this club is to allow learners to interact with their environment more, and create an awareness for the intricate connection we have with the world around us. As a school we also believe it is our duty to teach leaners how to live a “green” lifestyle, teaching them about reducing waste, reusing waste and recycling waste as well as many other aspects such as pollution and global warming.
Debating
Debating helps learners in the art of forming constructive arguments. This allows learners to express themselves freely as well as learn to tolerate and appreciate others viewpoints. Debating is a lifelong skill, that has proved to be very valuable for many people.
Community Outreach
Curro has created a nationwide initiative across all its schools, to create community awareness. Over the next few months all Curro Schools will be embarking on a mission to knit as many squares as possible which will then be turned into blankets and handed out to the community before the winter months. The initiative is open to everyone who wishes to get involved. The more we knit, the more lives we can touch. Learners taking part in the Community Outreach club will be taught how to knit and stitch blankets. These learners will then be involved in handing out the blankets in the second term. We encourage that all learners be involved in this project, to help our surrounding communities.
Art Club
During this time learners will be taught art and crafting skills, learning how to use their hands in a delicate manner. This is a fantastic way to develop and stimulate creativity.
Modelling
Modelling is a fantastic way of developing poise and self-confidence, teaching girls how to walk with the correct posture.
Fitness Dancing
Fitness dancing is a fun way to keep in shape and learn how to move your body. Dancing allows learners to develop rhythm, co-ordination and muscle tone.
