Stellenbosch Hills Wine Tasting @ Zest Restaurant

Mbombela – Zest Restaurant recently had the Stellenbosch Hills wine taste evening at their gorgeous venue just outside of town.

The selection of wines was complimented by the delicious foods prepared by Zest’s very own, Chef GT! Together, these two marvels (each in it’s own right) made for a mouth watering affair and the lucky diners who managed to get a table, couldn’t ask for a more splendid evening!

Mr PG Slabbert, a cellar master at Stellenbosch Hills since 2003, entertained the guests to some history behind each different wine and of course the story of Stellenbosch Hills and its thorough pedigree of distinguished wines World wide.

One could sit for hours listening to his vast expertise on the type of wines to be drank with different meals and actual experiences in the almost 23 years he has been so fortunate to be in the wine industry. “My philosophy is, if you exceed on quality at a reasonable price you’ll earn your consumer’s unfailing loyalty and trust.”, says PG.

Not to be outdone by the many great compliments on the wine selection of the evening, Chef GT somehow kept surprising the guests with a delight of his extraordinary culinary perfection. With every new course, one could hear the “mmm’s” and “ahhhs” around the fine dining restaurant.

For anyone that has ever had the pleasure of dining at the hands of Chef GT (and his magical kitchen crew – has to be?!), will know that it is truly a meal that will never be forgotten and will linger on the lips until the next time.
