White River – The annual Uplands Festival took place again over the past weekend at the prestigious school on the outskirts of White River in the Lowveld.
The festival has transformed over the years into a much anticipated annual calendar event and attracts locals and tourists alike to come and relax at the CANSA Tea Party, watch some classic action packed derby school rugby, hockey and tennis or become mesmerized by the equestrian activities by some of the most talented riders and gorgeous horses.
For others looking for a more family orientated day, the massive kids play area with numerous jumping castles of all sorts, a pillow fighting competition on a suspended pole, a mechanical “air surfing” board, a train on a track for the youngsters and face painting made it all worth the while and the smiles on the faces could clearly show the joy on the day!
Of course a festival wouldn’t be festive without a large beer tent with a main stage under roof with various local and national bands performing classic well known tunes throughout the weekend.
