Helena receives funds for Speech Therapy

Mbombela – On Friday the 6th of April 2018, 1st Princess for Mrs Mpumalanga, Mrs Jene Smit hosted a function in aid of Helena Jacobs’s SPEECH THERAPY.

Although she has the device to hear now, she has no clue whats being said or how to communicate.

You can imagine how it must be to be deaf your whole life and then suddenly you can hear. She doesn’t understand any words, sounds or conversation. Its like learning a new language from scratch.  So that is where the speech therapy comes in now, she has two therapist and does one session by each weekly.

Friday evening was a great success. It was well attended and we raised R 7500.00 for Helena’s speech therapy. A special thanks to Kuzuri, who helped me to put together this event to help Helena.

In February we had no clue how things would play out and today it is with much joy that I can state the following, Helena has the gift of hearing!! Helena also attended the function Friday evening and I was happy to see how everyone else just fell in love with the little bundle of joy, just like I did!
