The Parlotones live @ Emnotweni Arena | Photos and Interview
The Parlotones live performance Photos & Interview @ Emnotweni Arena!
Mbombela – The “absolutely magical” The Parlotones performed live at the Emnotweni Arena at the Emnotweni Casino in Nelspruit over the weekend on their national tour – Here, There and everywhere.
As always, band members Kahn, Glen, Neil and Paul wowed the crowd with familiar songs like, “Push me to the Floor“, “Giant Mistake” and “ill be There“ (with many more), finally getting the “S”lowveld crowd up on their feet and dancing to the indie rock bliss!
As always, ShowMe Nelspruit was there to capture the the evenings magic into still images to save for eternity, for these are true music legends! ShowMe Nelspruit (SMN) was also very fortunate to swop a few words with lead vocalist, Kahn Morbee (KM):
SMN: How do you find the Lowveld crowd and how do we compare to the rest of SA?
KM: The crowd is always great! A bit mellow to start off with but when they get warmed up, it definitely turns into a lively bunch!
SMN: Yes, we noticed the lacy black ladies underwear being thrown at you! :-) Where did the name “The Parlotones” come from?
KM: Do you know the beep at the end of a voice message recording? Thats called a parlo-tone. We love great bands like “The Beetles“ and their record label was actually called ‘ParloPhone“. Obviously we couldn’t use the same name and after throwing a few weird mixes of that together and loving the idea of adding “THE” to the front of the name, made it stick.
SMN: Which is your favourite The Parlotones song?
KM: It’s always a very difficult decision to make, but “Push me to the Floor” has to be up there along with “Stardust Galaxies” because it was a duet which I loved. End.
