The Lowveld prepares for the Superhero invasion of 2017

Are you ready to have the time of your life, Mbombela?

The Color Run and its headline sponsor, Capitec Bank, will bring something more than just a day’s worth of fun to its fans. The Superhero Tour aims to underpin the journey towards ongoing personal fulfillment and inner strength – it’s time we believe in the superhero in each and every one of us.

Attach your capes, pull on your masks, and get ready to get plastered with colour.

In 2016, The Color Run South Africa raised over R500,000.00 for local causes and education-based initiatives in the areas we visited. In addition, R10 from each ticket purchased was donated by Capitec Bank to its education upliftment programme. In 2017, we aim to be even ‘superer’…

This year the quirky theme encourages runners young and old to step into spandex and don capes and masks while participating in the HaPPiEsT 5K on the planet!

“We are unleashing everyone’s inner hero,” says national event co-coordinator, Trevor Latimer. “Participants are encouraged to use The Color Run as a platform for good. Whether it’s raising awareness for a good cause or raising funds for charity or even simply acknowledging that you live with Supermom.  This year we celebrate the Superhero in us all.

“As part of the campaign, we announced a competition that will see our most inspiring superhero jetting off to an international event – one lucky hero will win an all-expenses paid trip for two to The Color Run in Paris in 2018,” says Latimer.

All you have to do is make your best video or post a picture to your Facebook or Twitter page and share on our timeline.  Don’t forget to tag us or mention us in your posts and we’ll re-post it for the world to see!

About The Color Run

The Color Run is a feel-good, happy, colourful event. “Color Runners” of all shapes and sizes happily go from wearing pristine white clothing, to being covered in prismatic colour.
