Arbor Day 2017 | Mataffin

Mbombela – Local media franchises were invited recently to attend a tree planting initiative on international Arbor Day near Mataffin, Nelspruit. The initiative brought up by Estelle Roe of Junxion Communications and with the help of local municipalities, local government and local business’s, turned out to be a huge success and has made a definite positive impact on the local community for years to come.

Planting fruit trees for an entire community is obviously a huge challenge on its own and therefore Estelle and her team approached the local municipality and looked for an appropriate community in which to host this.

“We have patience and the belief in our vision of enriching communities around Mbombela and we are extremely positive that this will be achieved! In addition, this project also set a platform for other projects like Spark, where business and municipality will continue to embark on sustainability projects to benefit the Lowveld” said Estelle.

The positives of the initiative was the wonderful way in which local municipality and all their stakeholders were able to realise a community project holding hands with 30 local businesses.
