An upliftment programme at Laersdrift (Stoffberg) near Middelburg, has not only created jobs, but evoked talent and creativity.
Based on a study done by the University of Stellenbosch, the Department of Agriculture released findings during July 2006 stating that Sango Village is one of the three poorest rural regions in South Africa.
This community project was initiated by the PGC (Pretoruis Group of Companies) and CMR Middelburg.
It is an ongoing project that aims to eradicate poverty completely and constantly improve the quality of life for this poor community that is ravaged by the long term effects of HIV and AIDS, as well as desperate poverty.
The women of Sango Village have been taught the basic skill of sewing and craft, but their creative talent knows no boundaries.
