Photos: Aspiring Talents shine at Highveld Art Soirée

Dozens of talented musicians, actors, dancers, gymnasts and artists all become part of a refreshing and rather unexpectedly inspiring Week of Entertainment at the Middelburg Mall and Cappuccino’s last week.

The Highveld Art Soirée served as a showcase and exhibition that displayed the multitude of young and talented Artists on the rise. It also included an art expo by selected artists from Middelburg, Emalahleni, Dullstroom and Lydenburg. Arts Association Pretoria Director Pieter van Heerden chaired the selection committee.

The entire event was organised by the Chairperson of the Highveld Art Association, Ms Johanna Botha, assisted by members of the managing-committee.  The Highveld Art Association is affiliated to the South African National Association for the Visual Arts (SANAVA).

This exhibition forms part of the Highveld Art Association’s on-going attempts as part of its arts and culture strategy to nurture and grow local art and artists, said Ms Johanna Botha.

“We achieved this by providing a platform to both showcase their talents and receive acknowledgement and feedback from the broader community,” Ms Botha said.  “Many people were clearly very impressed with the talent out there and the diversty of skills. We hope to host similar events in the near future.”
