Local runner in 2nd position at Tembisa Tom Tom Street mile

Local teenager Ben Mahlangu of the Nkangala Athletic Academy finished in second place at the Tembisa Tom Tom 15 and under street mile, held in Gauteng on 9 November 2014.

Ben is part of the development team and was among a group of Nkangala Athletic Academy juniors who travelled to Tembisa that Sunday to share the stage and experience of running with South Africa’s top and professional athletes.

We are building a team that will compete at next year’s South African champs. Taking our athletes to compete in other provinces is part of our training, we learn from all the experiences, especially how to adjust to a different pace, said Emmanuel Shaper Mabaso, Chairperson of the Nkangala Athletic Academy.
