Diepcity’s Mandla N to premiere a new movie at the Africa Rising International Festival
The star-studded ‘Boxing Day’ will show case in partnership with Showmax this week at ARIFF
Africa Rising International Film Festival (ARIFF) announced that it is premiering Mandla N’s film, titled Boxing Day, in partnership with Showmax, at this year’s edition of ARIFF on Saturday at 19h00 at The Bioscope located at 44 Stanley.
This will be the very first African showing of the feature-length film by the multi-hyphenate Mandla N, known for ground-breaking shows like Lockdown and Diepcity.
“We are excited about this addition to our curated programme,” says festival director, Ayanda Sithebe.
“We are thrilled that a powerful streaming platform like Showmax will premiere a film at the festival. ARIFF is a home for Pan-African filmmakers and their creative expression so the marriage between us and Showmax makes absolute sense,” adds festival chair Lala Tuku.
Boxing Day stars veteran television and theatre actor Hamilton Dlamini, veteran actress S’thandiwe Kgoroge and the actress known for playing a wannabe superstar singer who gets caught by law enforcement for being in possession of drugs on Lockdown, Zola Nombona.
