Goukamma Beach Ride, Sedgefield, Garden Route
Description
The Goukamma Nature Reserve and Marine Protected Area is situated just outside of Sedgefield (between Knysna and George). This is a hard core ride through sand, sand and more sand. However, you will be rewarded with the most spectacular scenery.
Remember to spray the off salt water on bike when you get back.
Goukamma Nature Reserve: Hiking, canoeing and pedalling on plastic pedal boats, picnic and braaiing facilities are available. There are seven accommodation units that vary in style.

Personal Safety
Always underestimate your ability and ensure that you are fully equipped to enjoy your cycling in safety. Changes in weather conditions and damage to the route by other users may result in increased difficulties. Be prepared to carry your bike over sections which are beyond your cycling ability.
Getting There
Goukamma lies approximately 40km east of George and 15km west of Knysna. The reserve is sign-posted on the N2 Highway between Knysna and Sedgefield at the Buffalo Bay turn-off. Follow the Buffalo Bay road for approximately 8km and turn right (towards the river) into the reserve.
