Angelique does it again a Miss Earth SA Finalist
Angelique Fourie, Knysna’s representative in the Miss Earth SA competition, has once again secured her place as one of the finalists in the highly anticipated 2023 competition. This announcement comes as a testament to her unwavering dedication to making a positive impact on South Africa’s environmental and societal issues.
This marks a significant milestone in her Miss Earth SA journey, following her achievement of reaching the top three last year.
Throughout this year, Fourie has been dedicated to various philanthropic endeavors, including tree planting initiatives, the establishment of vegetable gardens, and organizing soup kitchens, among other projects.

Determined to build upon her experiences from the previous year, Angelique made the bold decision to re-enter Miss Earth SA, driven by her desire to create an even more significant impact through her 2023 campaign. She firmly believes that resilience is the key to addressing the pressing challenges of hunger and environmental conservation in South Africa. “Entering Miss Earth SA again this year was a no-brainer to me. After learning so much last year, I realized that in order to keep making an impact and fighting against the hunger crisis and environmental issues in South Africa, we need to be resilient,” she passionately stated.
Upon hearing the exciting news yesterday, Fourie expressed her immense joy and anticipation for the upcoming grand final, scheduled for September 9th.
Angelique’s decision to re-enter the competition is a powerful demonstration of her dedication and unwavering commitment to the cause. She envisions herself as a source of inspiration and knowledge for young individuals, instilling in them the belief that they too can make a difference, regardless of the scale of their efforts. She firmly believes that everyone can contribute to positive change.
Angelique’s profound dedication to her mission is exemplified by her extensive drive. she initiated and successfully executed two tree-planting initiatives recenty, one at Fraaisig Primary School where she planted 11 trees in collaboration with Knysna Networking, and another where she planted 10 trees at the Learning Tree Pre-Primary School in Hornlee.
Furthermore, Angelique exhibited her commitment by collecting and donating both non-perishable and perishable food items to the Hope Soup Kitchen in Dam se Bos. She actively participated in distributing food to the community, reinforcing the importance of community involvement.
Not stopping there, Angelique took the initiative to set up and cultivate a vegetable garden for the soup kitchen, providing a sustainable source of fresh produce for those in need.
Her recent donation of over 100 non-perishable food items to the Epilepsy SA South Cape/Karoo branch further underscores her unwavering commitment to alleviating hunger and making a positive impact.
