PAWS premises officially open
The long-awaited new Plettenberg Bay Animal Welfare Service (PAWS) kennels were officially opened on Thursday, January 31.
According to Marsja Hall-Green, PAWS media liaison, it was a very happy event with about 80 people in attendance.
“We started in a small way doing primary health care, dipping and de-worming, explained PAWS chairperson Di Butlin. “We have had many years of trying to get to the point we are today, with problems of unusable land, threats of violence, theft and destruction of our property, etc. We are thrilled to now have somewhere from which to work and somewhere to house all our strays.”
