Taps run dry in Knysna CBD
The taps have run dry in the central business district of Knysna this morning, Tuesday 21 November, and there is no indication yet of when water may be restored.
A comment was received from the Knysna municipality spokesperson saying: “We have notified residents via our social media platforms and our MobiApp that our team is working feverishly to remedy the problem.
“Unfortunately no time frames are yet available. We do have a water truck roaming the area.”
The water problem is thought to stem from a broken pipe in Unity Street.
Areas which are affected are in town and suburbs close to town.
One business owner in Woodmill Lane who has a restaurant said: “This is not good for business. Is the roaming truck going to fill up toilet cisterns which all visitors to the centre use?”
