Tamaryn Le Chat
Tamaryn Le Chat, a 21-year-old skilled striker from the Southern Stars football club in Knysna and an alumna of Cambridge International School, is set to embark on an exciting football journey in Spain next month. With a football career spanning nine years, Tamaryn has not only captured the spotlight in South Africa but has also attracted the attention of the renowned Spanish club, Real Betis.
Securing a coveted spot on the prestigious football tour taking place from December 15 to 22, Tamaryn’s journey to Spain was paved by her standout performance at the Real Betis soccer camp in Paarl held from May 16 to 18.
In addition to this international opportunity, Tamaryn has become a prospect for a team in the Hollywoodbets Super League, South Africa’s premier women’s club football competition. Having successfully completed trials with the club, she is poised for an exciting season ahead.
Tamaryn’s talent and dedication to the sport have been consistently acknowledged throughout her career, culminating in her receiving the Best Player Award from the Southern Stars in 2019. Reflecting on her passion for soccer, she expresses, “Soccer means everything to me, and this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity means the world. The beautiful game has taught me that resilience, passion, and talent propel you forward and shape who you are.”
While the chance for a young athlete to showcase their skills abroad is invaluable, it comes with the financial commitment of turning this dream into reality.
