The inaugural charity golf day organized by Revive Knysna on Sunday, 17th September, was a triumph, thanks to the unwavering support from the local community.
Under the coordination of Mandy Stubbs, Ilse van Staden, Jo Velloza, and the dedicated Revive Knysna team, the event exuded a friendly, relaxed ambiance. Nature also favored the occasion, gifting attendees with a beautiful day that enhanced the overall experience.
As the day concluded, enthusiasts eagerly awaited the halftime of South Africa’s Rugby World Cup match against Romania, embodying true Bok spirit. The prize-giving ceremony took place amidst this anticipation.
The top spot was clinched by the team led by the iconic South African cricketer Sir Barry Richards, accompanied by Vanessa Cloete, Keith Ferguson, and Barbara Mills. Marina Kok, Eugene Kok, Leslie Bothma, and Andrew Jamieson secured the runner-up position, while Johnny Knight, Kevin Kaplin, Johan Greeff, and Verona Terblanche claimed the third spot.
Additionally, there were categories specifically for ladies and mixed teams. The triumphant ladies’ team included Judy Humphreys, Margi Visser, Jessica Pansegrow, and Brenda Neale, while the mixed four-ball winners were Ciaran Sharrock, Sasha Gunn, Shoni Booysen, and Naomi de Jongh.
Individual achievements were also acknowledged, with Ross Macgregor, Sean Mackenzie, Hans Westhof, Tim Reardon, and Peter Filmer being recognized as the Nearest to the Pin winners. Adding to the thrill was a raffle boasting an impressive R10,000 value. Hein Giliomee struck luck and walked away with this incredible prize.
