Leisure Isle Festival 2013
The weekend of Saturday, and Sunday, October 26 and 27 will see the 11th annual Leisure Isle Festival take place in Knysna. This festival is a genuine craft market that proudly encourages Buy Local.
Bookings for sites opened at the beginning of August and the organisers report a good flow of registrations with a noticeable number of interesting new participants. Every attempt is being made to accommodate last year’s participants with the same site as before, but this concession falls away on September 15.
Those who participated in the past and wish to retain the same site as before should thus not delay in submitting their booking forms. These forms can be obtained from offices of Sotheby’s or on at www.leisureislefestival.co.za.
The festival, held in the entrance park on Leisure Isle, will be alive with activities. Stalls catering for every taste will be offering a mouth-watering array of food and drink and fresh produce, as well as arts and crafts, toys, a huge array of books, indigenous and other plants and many other delights.
In addition to activities such as the ever-popular barrel train and jumping castle for children, and the doggie walk around the island for all ages, this year Knysna’s elderly folk will be specially catered for with a wheelchair walk and the Knysna Embroiders Guild will be back with another exciting exhibition of their latest embroidery works of art.
