A total of 25 reconstructions and development programme (RDP) houses have been handed over in Karatara and Bloemfontein.
After months of construction, 25 families now have a new home.
The house in Karatara was built and completed in 10 days using Innovative Building Technology (IBT) as well as Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) by Cape Island Construction, and formed part of the municipality’s Nelson Mandela Day programme.
The recipient of this innovative house in Karatara, the first RDP house to be built in the area, was Sana Moris, age 59, who lives with her grandchildren.
Over and above the house in Karatara, 24 other Breaking New Ground (BNG) houses were handed over at Bloemfontein, White Location.
