In a recent initiative, the Western Cape CoLab partnered with Nemisa CoLabs, including SUFF Academy, to organize a mobile literacy program.

The program was conducted at Rheenendal Library and Khayalethu Community Hall, held on 10 to 11 July and 13 to 14 July, respectively. Its primary objective was to address the digital skill gaps in rural, semi-rural, and township communities.

The program specifically focused on providing individuals from these communities with fundamental digital skills for mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets. By imparting these skills, the program aimed to empower those who are in need and enhance their access to digital skills training.

The collaboration between Western Cape CoLab, Nemisa CoLabs, and SUFF Academy underscored the commitment to bridging the digital divide and ensuring that individuals in underserved areas have the opportunity to acquire the necessary digital competencies. Through this mobile literacy program, participants were equipped with essential skills that can significantly contribute to their personal growth and socio-economic advancement.

Overall, the initiative played a crucial role in empowering individuals within rural, semi-rural, and township communities, with a focus on enhancing their digital literacy and enabling them to thrive in an increasingly connected world.
