Coke chooses Knysna
Knysna is one of 40 dream destinations selected by Coca-Cola for the ultimate prize in their 2018 Taste Summer in Paradise competition!
Other dream destinations in South Africa are Cape Town, the Garden Route, Plettenberg Bay, Durban, the Drakensberg, Wild Coast, Umhlanga, Margate, Hermanus and Pilanesberg.
Chairperson of Knysna Tourism Elmay Bouwer said that she was delighted but not surprised that Coca-Cola has included Knysna as a dream destination.
“With our pristine beaches, beautiful estuaries, rivers and lakes, Knysna is indeed a dream summer destination,” she said.
“And with our temperate all-year-round climate we can easily compete with the other top destinations.”
Bouwer said that Knysna Tourism had no way of knowing that Knysna had been selected.
“We were not contacted by Coca-Cola, so it wasn’t until my partner Paul Theron bought two bottles of Knysna-labelled coke when he was playing golf at the Pretoria Country Club in Gauteng, that we realised we were part of the campaign.
Since then, the bottles have been popping up everywhere!”
The Taste Summer in Paradise competition commenced on 1 November 2017 and ends on 31 January 2018.
