Back by popular demand, the theme which will be explored is: “Must see hidden gems around CapeNature Reserves”. Anyone interested can register for free and log in from 17:00 to 18:00 via the Zoom streaming platform.

The first webinar hosted under the topic “Iconic CapeNature trails for your post lockdown bucket list” was highly popular and garnered 4 588 live viewers. The upcoming webinar will take a look at those lesser-known tourism spots and experiences offered by the respective CapeNature reserves.

A panel consisting of CapeNature specialists as well as industry subject matter experts will unpack eco-tourism on offer at a number of our reserves, each one special in their own way.

As lockdown restrictions around the country gradually ease, CapeNature continues the phased re-opening of its reserves for hiking and angling activities, acknowledging that locals may be itching to get back in nature. We encourage members of the public to register for the webinar as we actively explore these lesser-known locations in the Western Cape for local travel.

With nature lovers finally being able to access the great outdoors after a long period of confinement, the webinar will afford attendees the perfect opportunity to learn more about these eco-tourism hotpots from experienced industry leaders including Galeo Saintz from Rim of Africa and Magriet Kruger from Tip Africa Publishing.

CapeNature’s Executive Director: Eco-Tourism & Access, Sheraaz Ismail, says embracing new technologies in the world of tourism and conservation has been an exciting challenge:

CapeNature is embracing various technologies to compensate for in-person events and to adapt to the new normal. People all around the world are staying home whilst waiting in anticipation to get out there and travel. And while you can’t quite invite them to explore your destination for overnight stays yet, you can encourage them to take a virtual visit and plan their first post-lockdown trip by tuning in!”

To secure a booking at the next Nature Talks webinar, RSVP via the following Zoom link https://bit.ly/2DYtig4 and ensure that you do not miss out! We also encourage members of the public to forward questions in relation to the theme for our panellists ahead of the webinar, to naturetalks@capenature.co.za. We look forward to engaging with you.
