Mercedes-Benz South Africa has unveiled the exclusive “F1 Edition” of the C 63 S E PERFORMANCE, a time-limited special model that brings Formula 1™ technology to the road. This performance hybrid will be available for one year from market launch, offered in both Saloon and Estate versions.

Striking Exterior Design

The “F1 Edition” stands out with its unique MANUFAKTUR alpine grey uni paint finish, accented by AMG logos and a gradient from grey to black on the vehicle flanks. Red trim lines on the sides, front, and rear aprons add vibrant accents, while the 20-inch AMG forged wheels in a 5-twin-spoke design, painted matt black with red rim flanges, mirror the style of the Official FIA F1 Medical Car™ from Mercedes-AMG. The AMG Aerodynamics Package, developed in a wind tunnel, enhances handling and visual appeal with elements like a larger front splitter, spoiler lip on the Saloon’s boot lid, redesigned side member trim, and additional diffuser board.

Motorsport-Inspired Features

The AMG Night Package I and II further accentuate the motorsport aesthetics with high-gloss black finishes on the front splitter, front wing trim elements, mirror housings, beltline trim strip, window surrounds, radiator grille louvres, rear apron trim strip, twin tailpipe trims, and model badge on the boot lid. The silver chrome AMG fuel filler cap with “AMG” lettering underscores the edition’s exclusivity.

Luxurious Interior

Inside, the “F1 Edition” features an interior marked by a sophisticated black and red contrast. The AMG Performance seats are upholstered in Exclusive black nappa leather with red topstitching and embossed AMG emblems on the front head restraints. Red seat belts, AMG carbon trim elements with red thread, and an AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather/DINAMICA microfibre with red topstitching complete the sporty look. Additional touches include an exclusive Edition badge, AMG floor mats with red stitching and F1 logo, and AMG door sill trims with red illuminated “AMG” lettering. Each customer also receives a customized AMG Indoor Car Cover with F1 logo for protection.

Performance and Specifications

The C 63 S E PERFORMANCE boasts a P3 layout, with a combustion engine at the front and an electric motor at the rear axle. It delivers a combined system output of 500 kW and 1020 Nm of torque, with an electric range of 13 km. The 2.0-litre, four-cylinder in-line engine generates 350 kW and 545 Nm of torque at 6750 rpm, complemented by a permanently excited synchronous electric motor producing 150 kW and 320 Nm of torque.

Power is transmitted through a fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system and an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission. The vehicle features AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with adaptive damping on both the front and rear axles, ensuring exceptional handling and ride comfort.

The braking system includes hydraulic dual-circuit brakes with large, ventilated and perforated brake discs, six-piston fixed callipers at the front, and one-piston floating callipers at the rear. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 280 km/h when equipped with the optional AMG Driver’s Package.

The “F1 Edition” C 63 S E PERFORMANCE is priced from R2 476 800 and comes with a standard 2-year/unlimited kilometer warranty and a 5-year/100,000 km maintenance plan. The vehicle’s combined fuel consumption is 10.51 l/100 km, with CO₂ emissions of 238 g/km, adhering to WLTP standards.
