Tshisa Talent Knysna 2017 Winners, “The Voices”

The Future, The Voices, Killer Toonz & Great Drama defined the Tshisa Talent Competition Knysna 2017

The Tshisa Talent Knysna Competition came to a close on Saturday the 25th of March 2017 and the winners were selected.

“The Voices” won the overall Winner and Winner of the Song Category.

The Arts Group called Sakhuluntu (meaning The Future) won the Dance Category.

Brown Theatre won the Drama Category. However it was a narrow victory as she was challenged by the Moonstone Drama Group from Redefined 101. Both inspiring shows have appeared on numerous stages in South Africa.

Killer Toonz rapped themselves into first position in the Rap Category.

Megan Charles was an obvious choice for the Most Promising Performer.

Besides cash prizes, which will be utilised to improve their careers in a special Skills Building Workshop, winners were given music video productions made possible by Born 2 Shine Studios, aka Zafie (Brian Nkosi) who was the winner of Tshisa Talent 2015 and CDs, branding and sound equipment.

We are very appreciative of the support of the National Arts Council of South Africa, The Mayor and Knysna Municipality and Tourism for helping us to make this possible. It was one of the greatest nights of their lives for many of these talented youngsters.”

“We have uncovered over 1000 performers within the Plett and Knysna Communities and Knysna can feel very proud of the quality of their talent. Our greatest desire is to help them launch sustainable careers.

If anyone needs to add a local flavour to their entertainment platform these youngsters offer a good option.” Said Co-Founder, Mncedisi Ncedani.

Tshisa was also very lucky to have the following esteemed Celebrity Judges:

Henricus Gysman (DJ Rickey G from Eden FM), Zikhona Nweba-Monaheng (Manager of the National Arts and Cape Town Fringe Festivals) and Amanda Valela (Actress and Choreographer for Lunchbox Theatre). Unfortunately Tigger Reunert was laid low by illness and could not make it despite his ongoing enthusiasm for the project.
