Knysna’s Talent Shines – Tshisa Talent Finals 2016

Musifunde Library was teeming with talent on the 28^th of November 2016, as the first auditions for the Tshisa Talent Finals 2016 kicked off.

The Tshisa Talent team was launched in 2009 in Plettenberg Bay, in aid of discovering, developing and promoting local performing arts talent.

Every year a talent search is held to discover the artists in local underprivileged Garden Route communities. This year Knysna’s communities have the chance to show us what they are made of.

Once artists are discovered Tshisa works at developing their skills, offering them the basics of Business Management, Financial Management, Marketing, Income Generation and Event Organising.

They are also listed on the Big Circle professional entertainment agency website where they are marketed to event organisers, wedding planners and guest hosting establishments, both nationally and internationally.

The Auditions: The auditions are held in each participating community and they have 4 minutes to impress the panel of Tshisa Talent judges.

The Semi Finals: the best artists in each category are chosen and go through to a public performance where the door takings contribute to prize money for the Grand Finals.

The Grand Finals: This is the highlight of the event. The finalists get to attend a high profile red carpet gala event with celebrity judges. The winners walk away with prizes which include photoshoots, cash, websites, Promo DVDs and guaranteed gigs.

Over the years the Tshisa Talent team have auditioned over 1000 individuals including singers, dancers, musicians, choirs and theatre makers who aspire to take their talent further.
