Shell Museum
Jeffreys Bay is known for its golden beaches strewn with shells of all colours and sizes.
The Shell Museum was built to host the more than 600 spectacular shells. It all started with Charlotte Kritzinger, a very dedicated shell collector back in 1945. The shells have been collected from all over the world making it the largest shell collections throughout South Africa, attracting many shell enthusiasts.
Among the marvelous collection you will discover the well known and loved cowry, jam tarts, cone and paper nautilus all housed behind glass cases.
The shells have inspired many to create incredible crafts which can be purchased at one of the many stalls and shell shops situated throughout Jeffreys Bay.
Take yourself for a stroll through a timeless wonder of breathtaking beauty.

You can find the Shell Museum at the Shell Museum Complex (Tourism Office), Cnr fo Da Gama Rd and Drommedaris St, Jeffreys Bay.
Directions: Coming into Jeffreys Bay from the N2 you pass you will see the Fountains Mall on your right, keep going straight until you get the second stop street where you will turn left and then right at the robots. You are now in Da Gama Rd. At the fourth street to the left you will see the Shell Museum building.
