Kouga Municipality hosts first Career Expo
The four schools that formed part of the expo, which took place on Wednesday, September 22, were Jeffreys Bay Comprehensive School, Lungiso High School in Humansdorp, Humansdorp Senior Secondary School, and Hankey Secondary School.
“The purpose of the expo was to give Grade 12 learners an opportunity to obtain information and explore different career opportunities that are available to them after school,” said Kouga corporate services portfolio Councillor, Timothy Jantjes.
“The municipality compiled comprehensive career information packs for each learner -complete with markers, sanitisers and notebooks, in order for them to put their dreams and ambitions to paper.”
According to Jantjes, human resources is not only about recruitment and selection, but also has a broader spectrum of responsibility in the community that it operates in.
“This is the beginning of a long-term partnership with the Department of Education and its learners, as the municipality aims at hosting a career expo annually,” said Jantjes.
