Whale Watching Crayfishing And More In Pringle Bay

Pringle Bay is a small seaside gem situated along the Western Cape coast.  

The town has grown considerably over the last few decades, coming alive during the summer season. If you love the outdoors you will be thrilled, Pringle Bay offers you some of the best whale watching and cray fishing spots along the coast.

Seaside Charm…

The Buffel’s River Mouth opens up to the sea and is perfect for children to wade and splash around in. For teenagers, the waves of False Bay are excellent for bodyboarding. Lifesavers are on duty during the summer holiday season so you’ll have peace of mind when going for a swim!

Whale watchers are encouraged to pack a picnic basket and take a slow drive along the coastal road, parking at one of the many vantage points. There you have the opportunity to spot Southern Right Whales, Humpback Whales, and dolphins.

CrayfishDuring crayfish season one will find the bay alive with kayaks and rubber ducks. Pringle Bay is one of the best diving spots along the coast and is the idle place to catch crayfish.

There are a few scattered restaurants in the area, try PeriGators for pizza and live entertainment over weekends. Bella Donna is great for Italian and Hook Line & Sinker offers the finest seafood dishes. Luxury food items and wine can be purchased at Lemon and Lime.

Pringle Bay lies within the Kogelberg Biosphere and is home to the most diverse biosphere in the world!

There are over 1800 plant species, the next richest is the Amazon Rainforest in South America. There is an array of fynbos and wildlife. Visitors can spot klipspringer, otters, fish eagles and baboons.

Attractions:

There are a great number of hiking trails in the area, Trips range from 3 hours till 2 days. Permits are required to gain access to the trails and can be purchased at the beginning of the hike.

For avid bikers, there is a 5 to 6-hour mountain bike trail.

Both hiking and biking routes begin at the Palmiet River, which can be found 100 meters on the Bettys Bay side of the bridge.
