Master your balance and take hold of your wits! Sandboarding at the Silversands Dunes is a popular activity for families, youngsters, and adrenaline junkies. It is easy to get the hang of. There are many tour operators in the Overberg that offer day trips to the dunes. Those wanting to try it for themselves can hire equipment and purchase permits through Jackazz Eco-Adventures centrally located in town.
Visit the Stony Point Penguin Colony, only one of three main land-based colonies in South Africa! There you can view them 
from an elevated deck so as not to disturb them.
Harold Porter National Botanical Gardens was purchased in 1938 to preserve the natural beauty of the area. There are amazing walking trails, including a hike to the Disakloof waterfall. Guests can also stop for a light lunch at the restaurant within the gardens.
The nearby Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve offers exquisite trails for mountain bikers and hikers. Permits can be 
purchased at the Oudebosch office within the reserve.
For water babies, the Palmiet River is the place to be. There are a number of tour operators in the area all offering either tubing, white water rafting and canoeing. These activities are suitable for any skill level.
