Oak Valley Mountain Bike Trails
Established by Pieter Visser, the Oak Valley winemaker, who himself is a keen mountain biker, the trails start and finish in the oak-lined avenues at the entrance of the Estate.
Oak Valley is situated at the base of the Groenlandberg mountain in Grabouw. There are 3 marked routes: a 14 km Green Route for the family, a 21 km Red Route for stronger riders and the 25 km Black Route for more advanced riders. There is also a new 3km section of single track that has been added onto the end of the black route which is well worth riding.
The trails consist of a large percentage of well maintained single track, with bridges over farm fences and streams, making for a highly enjoyable ride.
If the bridges are wet make sure you hit them straight on, they are very slippery!
The trails take the rider through beautiful natural scenery, including forests of ancient oak trees and through vineyards and orchards. Oak Valley is one of the overnight stops for the Cape Epic.
A major advantage is that there are hot showers and a bike wash at the end. There is also secure parking provided. The cost is R30 per rider and is payable at the security office at the entrance to the farm.

Getting There:
Take the R43 from Hermanus towards Cape Town.
Turn right at Oudebrug Road / R321. Take first right onto Main Road / R321 to Villiersdorp. Follow the road for ±700m then follow the signs to the Oak Valley tasting room. (±50km from Hermanus).
