Mountain Biking Routes In Hermanus | Salmonsdam Reserve
The Salmonsdam Nature Reserve near Stanford is not a designated mountain biking route in the Overberg but it is open to those wishing to tackle the various jeep tracks, rocky and sandy sections. There are sweeping views of the fynbos covered hills and mountains, rivers and further views of Walker Bay and the surrounding area.
The grading is difficult and the duration is based on the route that you choose.
Cyclists can expect sandy and rocky sections but the road is in good condition, a map of the reserve is available at the office. The 4×4 jeep track is clearly marked on the Salmonsdam brochure, ensuring you won’t get lost.
To enter will cost you R18 and R9 per child.
Enthusiasts of the sport are encouraged to venture out, you might even have the chance to spot baboons, buck and mammals while on the route.
