Beaches In Hermanus | Kammabaai Beach
Kammabaai Beach, Hermanus is very popular and jam packed during the height of summer, space is limited on the beach so leave early if heading out that way.
The beach parking is gravel and a pair of “plakkies” is advisable to avoid picking out stones from under your feet. This beach in Hermanus is wonderful, pack your towel and sunscreen and hit the beach!
For the water babies…
The beauty of this beach is that you have two sections to choose from, either the patch on the left or the patch on the right. The left side has a nice sized section of sand for bat and ball and space for the men looking to play a game of touch rugby.
There is enough space for a couple of umbrellas as mentioned leave early and claim your spot, by 11 am it is too late.
There is a summer wind that blows and picks up towards late afternoon but the beach is reasonably protected so you won’t have to chase your umbrella around like a fool. There is a nice spot to wade out into the waves from there and the current is mild. The water temperature sits at a mild 10 to 20 degrees in the summertime.
The right hand side of the beach is popular amongst moms and dads looking to keep an eye out on their youngsters 
playing in the shallows. Surfers and bodyboarders frequent the beach as it is one of the most popular beaches to surf, the beach does attract a lot of teenagers looking to hang out and shoot the breeze.
The beach does have a set of bathrooms and a shower if you are looking to rinse off. Lifeguards on duty during the summer season. There are ice cream trucks selling happiness on a cone but no café nearby so pack refreshments.
