This is by far one of the most amazing ways to discover the long stretches of beach and fynbos valleys of the Overberg. By joining in on anyone of the many horse riding trails on offer in Hermanus and the surrounding area you are guaranteed an adventure of a life time!

The Walker Bay Trail is on offer through the African Horse Company.

The route:

5 riding days and 6 nights

Day one – 4 hours. The trail starts at Farm 215 and finishes off at Bodhi Khaya.

Day two –  5 hours. Leave Bodhi Khaya and finish at the Stanford River Lodge.

Day three – 3 hours. You will leave the lodge and follow the Klein River Estuary, the route is a circular route, taking you back to the lodge.

Day four – 6 hours. After leaving the lodge you will tackle the hacking trail to Witvoetskloof.

Day five – 5 hours. With Witvoetskloof behind you, you will head back to the end point, Farm 215.

Notes:
  • Riders are to be fit, healthy and comfortable with a trot and canter.
  • Riders must be prepared to spend long hours in the saddle.
  • Hard hats are supplied as well as chaps, however bring your own if you have.
