The Inaugural Mayoral Charity Ball

The Inaugural Mayoral Charity Ball held at the Arabella Western Cape and Spa on Friday evening the 17th of August 2012 was an outstanding success and definitely an evening enjoyed by all who attended!

Mayoress Nicolette Botha-Guthrie welcomes guests to the inaugural Mayoral Charity Ball.

Some of the local performers showcased were the Zwelihle Marimba band, a choir, Devon Scott from Sandbaai, Goodness Gracious (Piano Ben and Miso), Snater Teater from Gansbaai (who’s littlest member stole our hearts!), Gerry Fourie from Stanford, Tribal Echo from Kleinmond and Johan & Carina from the Social Ballroom and Latin Dance School in Hermanus. Members of the Protection Services Overstrand Municipality also performed a breathtaking drill manouvre and a received a standing ovation in response to their performance.

A delectable three course meal was served and wine was sponsored by local wineries such as Creation and Wildekrans wine estates.

The “Sewejaartjie Trofee” was awarded this year to event organiser Dieter Odendaal for his dedication to the event and cause, without whom the evening would not have been such a success.

The evening would not have been possible without the support and donations of a host of very commendable businesses and individuals both in preparation and on the evening itself.
