Legacy Martial Arts Academy showcased their skills

Local karate practitioners from Legacy Martial Arts Academy in Hermanus showcased their skills at the National Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate Kyo Kai
Held at Stellenbosch University. The academy’s performance was outstanding, securing a total of 17 medals—two gold, six silver, and nine bronze.
Sensei Ruehan van Romburgh highlighted the diverse composition of the group, consisting of both seasoned competitors and newcomers. Remarkably, 10 out of the 16 karateka participated in their inaugural national tournament. Van Romburgh emphasized the supportive role played by the experienced members, guiding their less-experienced counterparts through the challenges of their first national karate competition.
Notably, the group included a participant as young as 5 years old, adding to the impressive diversity within the team. The medalists from Legacy Martial Arts Academy included Dylan Isaacs, who secured both gold and silver medals, Tiano Xakatha with a gold, Terrence Kamuzonde with silver, Oluje Kadama earning silver and bronze, Benjamin du Toit claiming silver, Leo Miller and Tash Kamuzonde attaining silver medals.
Johannes du Toit achieved distinction with two bronze medals, while Lerisha Montague, Heinrich de Jongh, Jason Velleman, Roelof Burger, Luc van der Westhuizen, and Rene Rodenberg each contributed by bringing home a bronze medal.
